Review: At Her Feet by Rebekah Weatherspoon

at her feet bookThe cover of this book caught my attention about a month ago when I was checking out some new lesfic releases on Amazon. I’d read the blurb on the Amazon page, so I knew going into it that this was not your average lesbian romance book.

While I’d never read a bdsm novel, gay or otherwise, I was still willing to give it a try. But as someone who was completely new to this sub-genre, I had a hard time getting into this book. I can go with the whole dominant/non-dominant roles, but this author completely lost me when the submissive one literally acts like a child. We’re talking about kids undies, toys, the whole nine yards here.

For me, it really crossed the line between sexual quirk/kink to mildly disturbing. And as if that was not bad enough, the submissive “little girl” character is basically sexually assaulted by another dominant “mommy” in the story and ends up apologizing for it to her “mommy.”

I can certainly say that I have never read anything like this, so if you are looking for a unique read then this just might be it. On the other hand, I kind of hope that I never come across a book like this ever again in my lifetime.

The actual bdsm in the book is somewhat light, with a little bondage and spanking.

If this book sounds like it might be of interest to you, then I suggest you check it out on Amazon now.

Shawna prefers fantasy books for the most part, but will read pretty much any type of fiction with LGBT characters. She prefers books with great secondary characters as well as main characters. And, she is really tired of lesbian romance novels where one character is/was straight and/or married to a guy. Despite that, she recently enjoyed Clare Ashton’s That Certain Something.
